Relationships & Life
I've always loved Usher's music simply because I feel like he continues to grow and stay in tune with who he is and who he wants to be in the world. In my eyes, although at times he is commercial, Usher's music has a good message. He has never been too vulgar, or disrespectful to women. We all know he is more of a lover boy :) I say all this to preface my reasoning for posting the video above. Let me just say, I make an effort not to fall asleep with the television on. It is my belief that the television is another source of energy, and as you can imagine leaving the television on while you are attempting to be in a deep restful state, that energy source just may interrupt your sleep. Of course there are times I fall asleep on the couch, dozing off to Criminal Minds, The OWN Network or even what some would consider to be "trashy" TV. I have a TV in my room, but I make it a habit not to turn it on. I rarely push the power button. I'm sure it feels neglected. So a few months ago I stayed at a friends, laying on the couch we dozed off to VH1. Around 7am I was awakened by a melody. One that indeed reeled in the attention of my subconscious mind. I remember being halfway present. Although my eyes were open I still felt halfway on the side of dream land. The melody, without the words did something to me, it was chilling in a miraculous way. I know I may sound corny or even a bit dramatic, but I'm being honest. Music heals the soul, connects the world, and really does enlighten pain to be combatted from darkness to light. When I left his house later that morning, I made an effort to listen to the album I had purchased months before of Mr. Raymond. I never paid attention to this song, but everything happens at the perfect time. It was pure perfection. I needed to connect to the lyrics that day. I listened to the words as I cruised home on Lake Shore Drive. I have been hooked ever since. This is how I feel more often than not...the truth is...I GET IT! I'm sure you will too if you listen to the lyrics.
Thanks Mister Usher Raymond! :)
